Chiropractor Duluth GA

My name is Dr. Joseph Hans, (“Dr. Joe”) and I have been a practicing chiropractor in Duluth, GA since 1999. Throughout the years, I have helped literally thousands of people in the metro Atlanta area who have suffered with acute and chronic pain. When you are in pain or have been injured, choosing the right doctor can be one of the most important decisions you can make. You want a doctor who is caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. Someone who’s willing to take the time to explain your problem in a way you can understand.  I understand this as much as anybody because of my experience as a personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder throughout the past 35 years.

Welcome to Duluth Injury & Rehab Center

My clinic specializes in treating musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, herniated or bulging disc, radiculopathy (radiating pain into the arms and legs), numbness, tingling and injuries due to motor vehicle accidents including “whiplash”.  For a complete list of conditions treated view the conditions treated and FAQ tab at the top.  We also provide chiropractic care for families wanting to add chiropractic care to their health and wellness plans.

I will go over all of your treatment options and answer any questions that you may have in order to see that you are receiving the best care available. We may also refer you to a local imaging center for additional diagnostic test such as X-Rays, MRI’s or CT scans if necessary.

After your initial exam is complete we can provide a detailed report to your primary care physician to keep them updated regarding your condition.  In addition, we work closely with orthopedist and pain management specialist who help co-manage our patients care if more than chiropractic care is needed. If a patient is not responding to traditional medical care, a chiropractor is often an appropriate and effective alternative.

If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident or work-related injury, our office will we will work directly with your attorney and provide all the necessary documentation supporting my findings to assist with your claim or settlement. We will also work with your attorney on a lien basis so that there is no out of pocket expense to you. Payment for our services to you will come directly from your settlement.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our web site. Feel free to call our office with any questions or to schedule your initial visit.

What is Chiropractic in gENERAL?

Chiropractic is a profession within the health care field that deals with the neuro-musculoskeletal system of the human body. A chiropractor will diagnose, as well as help prevent, injuries and disorders of the nerves, muscles, and bones. While we will diagnose and treat these resultant injuries and disorders, the main objective is the removal of nerve interference allowing the body to heal itself without invasive procedures and/or drugs.

As the science of chiropractic has evolved, so have the techniques used within its practice. Common treatment methods have grown to include nutritional counseling, orthotics, lifestyle modification / exercise programs, and physical rehabilitation programs. While these adjunctive treatments are certainly beneficial, spinal and joint manipulation remains the primary and most effective mode of treatment by our clinic. Statistics reflect that nearly 95% of patients that seek chiropractic care do so as a result of musculoskeletal pain.

Chiropractic care is not a guaranteed miracle treatment. However, it is not uncommon for patients to report an improvement in the conditions listed above after receiving chiropractic treatment. The majority of people understand that chiropractic is beneficial for back and neck pain, headaches, and sprain/strain injuries. However, very few people including those in the medical community, truly understand the affect adjustments have on the central nervous system. In particular, the affect adjustments have on the autonomic nervous system and its sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.

The Education of a Duluth GA Chiropractor

Most patients don’t realize how much schooling chiropractors have to go through before they can start practicing? Chiropractors are held to some of the most intense educational requirements of any health profession. In fact their schooling requirements are very comparable to that of medical practitioners. After completing a heavy emphasis of basic sciences in an undergraduate program, potential chiropractors may be accepted into a four year chiropractic college. During that time they do extensive course work in the areas of:

  • Anatomy
  • Physiology
  • Public Health
  • Microbiology
  • Pathology
  • Biochemistry
  • Chiropractic Philosophy and Practice
  • Chiropractic Diagnosis
  • Adjusting Methods
  • Nutrition
  • X-Ray
